Tahira Karmali

Tahira has been dancing with SHIAMAK Vancouver for over twenty years. Fun fact: she has never missed a Funk stage show since she started dancing. Her journey includes learning in Adult Beginners as a teenager, being selected for the Special Potential batch, becoming part of the SHIAMAK Vancouver Dance Team, and teaching dance classes for over ten years.

She has been a part of many prestigious events including We Day, TOIFA Awards, IIFA Awards, the BC Lions halftime show, and Canucks Diwali Night to name a few. She has also performed alongside Bollywood icon Govinda right here in Vancouver.

Tahira is a certified Early Childhood Educator, works as a Preschool teacher, and completed her BA in Health Science with a minor in Psychology.

As a preschool teacher, she brings warmth, patience, and an understanding of child development into her dance instruction, making her especially skilled at nurturing young talent.

Tahira likes exploring all styles of dance but has a special love for Afrobeats and Dancehall.
